At Eco Renewable Energy, we are always excited to bring sustainability and innovation to life in new and engaging ways. For Nestlé’s Uncle Tobys Oats brand, we had the opportunity to work with them on an activation that blended energy, education, and fun. 

The Challenge:

Nestlé set out to educate children about the vital link between energy and nutrition in a fun and engaging manner. They wanted an innovative approach to make their brand memorable, transforming the learning experience into an interactive journey that would leave a lasting impression.

At the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Nestlé brought their iconic Uncle Tobys oats brand to life, creating an immersive and interactive experience. The initiative aimed to teach children the importance of nutrition and the natural processes behind the food they enjoy, making the message both educational and unforgettable.

The Solution:

We were thrilled to provide a solution that combined the magic of our Energy floors with custom-built storytelling software to create a one-of-a-kind activation. At the heart of the experience was a themed hut where children could explore how the energy from the sun fuels oat fields, connecting it to how food nourishes our bodies.

We worked closely with the Nestlé team to design the experience, ensuring it would be fun and educational. The installation of our Energy Floors played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to life. When children stepped onto the Energy Floors, they powered the interactive storytelling elements, engaging them in a dynamic way.

The Experience

As children entered the themed hut, they were greeted with a large screen displaying a virtual oat field. The immersive visuals brought the process of growing oats to life, from sowing the seeds to the crop’s gradual growth and eventual harvest. But what made the experience truly special was how the kids interacted with the Energy Floors.

Each time a child jumped or moved on the Energy Floors, it triggered a reaction in the virtual oat field. The seeds sprouted, the crops grew taller, and the process of harvesting unfolded before their eyes. This real-time connection between physical activity and the growth of the crops taught the children how energy is used in nature and nutrition.

The connection between the virtual world on the screen and the kids’ movements was instantaneous. The more energy they exerted on the floors, the faster the crops grew—creating an exciting cause-and-effect relationship that kept the children engaged.

The Outcome

The Uncle Tobys Oats activation was a massive success, drawing in kids from all corners of the Sydney Royal Easter Show. It was a great blend of education, technology, and physical activity. Children learned about the connection between energy, oats, and nutrition.

As a take-home reminder of their interactive experience, each child was given an Uncle Tobys Oats bar as they exited the hut. This added a tangible connection to the brand, allowing the kids to enjoy a healthy snack that tied into the lesson they had just learned.
