This case study details the implementation and impact of our sustainable light-up dance floor, designed to enhance community participation while promoting renewable energy solutions.
Project Overview
Darling Harbour’s summer event featured a series of dance classes and performances aimed at engaging the community in fun and active ways.
Objectives
The objective was to engage participants in an exciting dance experience on a renewable energy powered floor, showcasing a commitment to sustainable practices and interacting with visitors.
Our kinetic dance floor was designed to respond to the movements of participants, creating a visual spectacle that changed colours and patterns based on the rhythm and intensity of the dance.
Venue
The installation was located at the ICC Convention Centre Forecourt, a central hub for the summer events at Darling Harbour. The location provided high visibility and accessibility, attracting both participants of the dance classes and passersby.
Event Schedule
The dance floor was open for one month in January welcoming in the New Year & Summer, where various dance styles, including salsa & hip hop were showcased. A Kombi DJ added to the lively atmosphere from Thursday to Saturday, playing upbeat tracks that motivated participants to hit the dance floor.
Planning and Preparation
Our team worked closely with Destination NSW and Darling Harbour to finalise the layout, schedule, and technical requirements for the dance floor installation. Detailed planning ensured a seamless setup that was completed ahead of the event start date.
Community Engagement
The installation of the light-up dance floor drew significant attention and participation from the local community. Attendees were invited to try their hand at various dance styles, fostering a sense of community and encouraging social interaction.
Feedback from Participants
Participants reported having an incredible time dancing on the light-up floor.
