Smart Solar Benches

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Eco Renewable Energy have partnered with Yarra Council to provide and install three new smart solar benches in Yarra. The first of their kind in Melbourne’s inner city, these benches will encourage locals and visitors to sit, relax and recharge in nature, using clean energy.

Intelligent urban furniture is becoming an essential part of city infrastructure, as we think ‘smart’ about the design and activation of public spaces. This technology evolves street furniture into multi-function social hubs that work to increase connections between business, community and visitors, while raising awareness of the urban impact on climate change through environmental measurement and reporting.

WHY SMART BENCHES IN YARRA CITY?

  • The Councils Vision: use technology and data to helpcreate a connected, informed and sustainable future forYarra.
  • The Future is Digital: smart technology, smartinfrastructure, smart solutions.
  • Supporting the Community: enabling a digital-readycommunity through access to skills and tools to grow andthrive in the digital age.

Testimonial

“We see smart benches as the future of seating in cities. For us, they are more than just a solar phone charger and WiFi hotspot – they are a social hub that connects people, council and services. We are so pleased to have partnered with Eco Renewable Energy for our smart bench pilot. Their commitment to creating positive social and environmental impacts aligns with our own vision for a sustainable future. And through their generous support, we are helping to build awareness of renewable energy and smart technology, while ensuring everyone in our community has access to essential online information, products and services.”
