At Eco Renewable Energy, we aim to create meaningful experiences that inspire, educate, and connect communities with sustainability. One of our recent campaigns took place at Westfield Hurstville, where we launched a 4-week interactive activation to raise awareness about ocean and river sustainability. The campaign featured our innovative Energy Floors, which are equipped with custom software designed specifically for this activation. The result was an engaging, educational, and fun experience that left a lasting impression on the local community.

Project Overview

The goal of this campaign was simple: surprise, delight, and educate the people of Hurstville on the importance of preserving our oceans and rivers. By creating an immersive experience using our Energy Floors, we made sustainability tangible, interactive, and exciting. The activation was designed to engage visitors in a hands-on way while conveying important messages about environmental conservation.

The Interactive Experience

Our Energy floors are unique in their ability to transform footsteps into energy. For this campaign, we enhanced the experience by integrating custom software that visualised the impact of each step. Visitors who stepped on the floors were able to generate energy, which was then used to fill up a visual lighthouse on a large display screen. This symbolic action of powering the lighthouse highlighted how small individual actions can contribute to a larger goal-just, like how small changes in our daily habits can lead to significant positive impacts on our oceans and rivers.

Community Engagement

The campaign took place in a highly visible and well-trafficked area of Westfield Hurstville. Over four weeks, visitors of all ages participated in the activation, many of whom were drawn in by the uniqueness of the interactive floors. Children, in particular, were excited to jump on the floors. The installation also encouraged families and friends to talk about the importance of sustainability, turning a fun experience into an educational moment.

Also, the campaign was supported by educational displays and messaging that emphasised the importance of protecting marine life and reducing pollution in rivers and oceans. This approach allowed us to reach people on both an intellectual and emotional level, ensuring that the campaign’s message resonated long after the visitors left the shopping centre.

Outcomes and Impact

The activation was successful, with hundreds of people engaging with the Energy Floors. The experience was interactive and fun, making it memorable, while its educational element left a lasting, positive impact on the local community.
