Shell Charity Race Activation

Overview

Shell, a global energy leader, hosted an internal company event to engage its staff while supporting charitable causes. To make the event both fun and impactful, Shell wanted to create a competitive activity that would inspire teamwork and support its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

To bring this vision to life, Shell approached us for their event. We designed an activation that combined team-building, friendly competition, and philanthropy, using two of our Racing Bikes to generate excitement and promote charity donations.

Challenge

Shell’s primary objective was to design an activity that entertained and encouraged their staff to work toward a shared goal of supporting charitable organisations. The event needed engagement, collaboration, and fun while aligning with Shell’s values of sustainability and social responsibility.

Our Solution

We developed an exciting head-to-head racing activation featuring two of our energy-generating Racing Bikes. Here’s how we made it work:

Competitive Racing: Employees competed head-to-head, pedalling our Racing Bikes to generate energy. The faster they pedalled, the more energy they produced, and the more points they earned for their chosen charity. This encouraged friendly competition and made participation more engaging.

Real-Time Leaderboard: We connected the bikes to a large screen, displaying each participant’s energy output in real-time. This added a thrilling element to the event, allowing participants and spectators alike to track progress and cheer on colleagues.

Charity Donation: Each rider represented one of three pre-selected charities. The participant who generated the most energy earned the most points for their charity. At the end of the event, Shell made a generous donation to the charity with the highest points.

Execution

Our team was on-site throughout the event to ensure everything ran smoothly. Employees participated in multiple rounds of the competition, with results displayed on the big screen, making each race more exciting. The simple yet engaging format allowed everyone to easily get involved, regardless of their fitness level. Our Racing Bikes were the centerpiece of the activation, sparking interest and creating a buzz throughout the event.
